More capital has been committed to blockchain fundraising in the first half of 2017 than traditional early stage VC funding. ICOs are raising tens, even hundreds of millions of dollars within days and even hours. This is disrupting both venture capital investing and startup fundraising models. In this session, Michael will show examples of the evolution of token offerings, and how both VC funds and startups are leveraging the crypto economy to fund new innovation and growth. He will show how the demand for liquidity by early stage investors will put pressure on equity vs. token structures, as well as proposed solutions.

Speaker: Michael Hiles (aka “HilesFiles”) is CEO/Founder 10XTS. He is a digital native with 25+ years of software engineering, data, and information architecture experience with enterprise systems. As a senior exec with cross-over experience in multiple sub-sectors and industry segments he has a proven track record of growth and innovation leadership in the context of start-up, mid-sized and large corporate organizations, as well as large scale government platforms. His team won a Smithsonian Award for being the first to connect a judicial management system to the web. As a mentor across the #StartupCincy ecosystem, Michael is the managing director of the Cincinnati operation for the global Founder Institute accelerator based in Silicon Valley.
